What Causes Sore Throat, White Spots In Mouth And Fever?

For 2 weeks now I have had a sore throat that has only gotten worse (feels like I m swallowing razor blades). There are no white spots in my mouth. I also have a cough with a lot of green mucus, fever, chills/shivers. I was given cefzil one week ago but it has only made my condition worse.

As per your complain the symptoms of sore throat along with cough and phlegm and green mucus and chills can be due to causes like viral infection, Bronchitis, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung infection, Pneumonia etc..

You should consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like chest x ray, sputum culture, blood tests, Immunoglobulin G levels can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics,anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, take Acetaminophen to reduce fever, anti allergics like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Phenylephrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
