Hi i have been suffering with a viral throat infection for the past week and was prescribed medication for it. medication was prescribed for 5 days. i have completed the course and still got a sore throat difficulty swallowing, coughing and pains in the lower back(sides) what should i do and do u know what this could be
The cause of your symptoms is obvious that is inflammation in the throat area. Epiglottitis can cause painful swallowing are are other reasons like granular pharyngitis and so on. I would advise you the following in such a situation: - Continue taking anti-inflammatory medicine along with painkiller properties - Antibiotics and other medicines as would be prescribed by your doctor or ENT surgeon in particular - Povidone Iodine gargles - Multivitamins and mineral as supportive - Plenty of oral fluids
