General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The soreness and swelling in the vagina during 33rd week of pregnancy can be due to possible infection through some sort of
bacteria or fungi. My guidelines at present:
- As during 3rd trimester of pregnancy, many of the medications cannot be consumed safely, a consultation with your OBGYN is must
- Vaginal hygiene with antiseptic liquid
- Wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears
- Avoid vaginal intercourse (if active)
- Local application of calamine lotion
- Prescription of necessary antibiotics and antihistamine with your doc
- Local application of steroid or anti-fungal cream is corner stone of therapy

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
