What Causes Soreness In Neck And Throbbing Pain In Temporal Region?
I am a 32 y/o female. 5 4 and 200 lbs. I have had a persistant headache with elevated BP for 13 days now. Been to ER on day 6, CT scan came back neg., given antibiotics for possible sinus infection. That didnt work, Back to PCP - given migraine meds, that also didnt work. Back to PCP again...given new meds to reduce my BP and supposedly help with the headache (a vasodilator I believe?). Soreness in neck, right and left temporal throbbing along wtih between my eyes. MRA with contrast pending approval from insurance and appt with neuro scheduled for Thurs. I m clearly very worried as I have no PMH of headache and a family history of aneurysm and stroke.

Hi, Your main cause of headache is high BP. Keep BP in check. You will have no problem and yes, get an MRA done. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Diwashish Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
