What Causes Soreness In The Collarbone While Treating A Fracture?

I have a plate on my clavicle form a bad break ~8 years ago. For the past couple of days, I have noticed some strange soreness around and below the plate. Today the soreness seems to have migrated halfway down my breast It is not extreme and there are no red fingers of obvious infection or anything, but it concerns me because it seems to have no source - I did not hurt myself or otherwise irritate it to my knowledge. I know I can t be diagnosed online, but I am wondering if it is common to have any dangerous reaction to the metal or anything else this long after having the plate attached .
