What Causes Soreness On The Tongue And Tingling Sensation In The Mouth?
Hello Dr. Rynne, I began experiencing a sore tongue and tingling of the mouth, face, and for a while, the scalp, with fatigue developing over time. They began after I ate some box mix cornbread that had a very strong sting in my mouth. The symptoms decreased dramatically for about 2 months after I stopped drinking reverse osmosis water (highly acidic) but have reemerged within the last two weeks. I am diabetic and have been taking metformin for 19 years. Blood tests showed a normal blood panel in November. Thanks, Helen
You have symptoms of soreness and tingling of tongue along with mouth, face and scalp and also fatigue which have relapsed after 2 months since last 2 weeks.
Your body is not compliant to any foods or drinks that you are consuming and it is the cause for the symptoms that you are facing..
You should consult an Allergist and get evaluated and specific allergic tests should be done like RAST test, patch test, food challenge test etc to confirm the cause..
Avoiding exposure to allergen or avoiding consumption of allergic foods can prevent the symptoms.. For now if allergy is confirmed you can take anti allergics like Benadryl after consulting an emergency room or your physician..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
