What Causes Spasms In Thigh With The History Of Hip Replacement?
I have been having spasms in my left thigh, that make me unable to walk for several minutes, I had a hip replacement on the left side in 2010, does this have to do with the replacement? And I sort of know when the spasm is coming because I feel a burning sensation in my thigh.
Calcium or B12 and folic acid deficiencies may cause spasms in muscles. You may need to use OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongside muscle relaxants like Orphenidine or Tizaindine. Supplements for calcium and vitamin D as well as B12 and folic acid may also be helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
