Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What might cause spontaneous bleeding above the knee creating intense pain, redness, swelling, immobility, and inability to stand on or bend knee? BEgan to occur every few weeks or so after one month post knee replacement surgery thank you for your consideration of this very concerning condition
Based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect that they could be possibly due to infection in the prosthetic joint. Any amount of swelling (which is recurrent in nature) occuring after a total knee replacement surgery is not considered as normal and warrants investigations.
Routing blood investigations like Crp, ESR , Differential count etc , radiographic evaluation, synovial fluid analysis are needed to arrive at a possible diagnosis.
So, I suggest you to approach the consultant surgeon for a detailed evaluation and further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
