What Causes Sporadic Episodes Of Lightheadedness And Dizziness?

I have been experiencing periods of dizziness or lightheadedness that has been sporadic over the last few months. Except for the last week where it s been pretty steady and today it was most of the afternoon. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning but I don t know whether to bother mentioning this or is it just age as I am 62. I have no medical conditions except for hypothyroidism and I do take level thyroxine 100 MCG daily. My appointment tomorrow is with a brand-new doctor as my health insurance changed the first of the year and I don t want to have her think that I m crazy.

Hi Your doctor is not going to think you are crazy :) Definitely mention it to your doctor and she will be able to help you. There is really nothing as just age and come on you are only 62! Your symptoms could be due to an ear problem or postural hypotension. Do you experience any ringing in your ears? Do you notice these symptoms when u get up from a sitting position or when you change posture suddenly? Do you have any palpitations or tightness of chest? Blurred vision? Surely mention this to your doctor as it's important to pin point what is causing these symptoms and the treatment differs depending on the cause. Take care. Good luck for your appointment :)
