What Causes Spotting And Delay In Menstruation After Taking Postinor-2?
I took postinor 2 after having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I had 5 days spotting 1 week after the intake of the postinor 2. my period is due to come on 31st July 2015 today is 2nd August n I still haven t seen my period. could it be like I m pregnant?
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. In case you have followed this protocol, you need to get your periods within 3 weeks of consuming the pill. In case this doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention immediately. Kindly get your urine pregnancy test, serum beta-HCG and Trans-vaginal ultrasound scan (TVS) done and consult Gynecologist at the earliest for appropriate management. All the best.
