What Causes Spotting During Pregnancy?

I am 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow and have been bleeding since Tuesday morning. I had a scan on Tuesday that showed the baby in the uterus but smaller than it should be. I am not an at risk patient for miscarriage. Is there anything else that can cause bleeding? I am having no cramping at all.

Hello,

A small amount of bleeding late in pregnancy is common. A blood-stained discharge is a sign that your body is preparing for labor. Remember that most women who have this symptom continue to have a normal and healthy pregnancy.

But if heavy bleeding occurs at this stage, it could be the sign of a serious problem. If you are experiencing heavy bleeding, use a pad to monitor your bleeding. Call your doctor if you experience severe symptoms like high fever, dizziness, or fainting. So follow my advice according to your condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Rana
