What Causes Spotting Post Menstruation And Pain In Abdomen During Intercourse?
I have had a copper iud in for the past 6 months. No major problems besides painful cramps at the start of a period. The 3rd month in, my period was late by a week and the last few periods have been shifted to that later date and are normal lasting about 5 days. My concern is the spotting I ve had after they finish for a few days and occasional pain in my right hand side during sex

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Cu T can cause change in bleeding pattern so, if there are no symptoms spotting can be taken as one of them. Pain with intercourse if associated with vaginal discharge/ bleeding/ itching or burning in urination-- needs to be investigated- for it's a sign of infection which needs treatment. Please consult a gynecologist & get Ci T checked for it's position & probable infection. The specific treatment would help to resolve the problem. Thanks.
