What Causes Spotting, lower Back Pain And Headache After Periods?

post period bleeding/spotting, severe lower back pain, headache
female, 25, 5'5", 135lbs
I finished my period about a week and a half ago. It was irregular. I usually have a 7 day period with little bleeding on one of those days in between. this period was heavy and lasted 10. I also was recently treated for a very severe UTI, but have completed my antibiotics. I started cramping with more intense lower back pain then what I deal with on a regular basis. I developed a headache that was tolerable at first, but grew as the day went on and was there to greet me when I woke up this morning. Today I feel as though I've been hit by a truck. I have some discomfort in my lower abdomen, but very severe lower back pain on both sides but more on my left than the right. it is difficult and painful to bend, it causes even worse pain. and to touch it almost brings me to my knees. I started spotting some this morning. not too much to be super alarmed because I only noticed when I wiped. this evening the pain only seems to get worse, even with the use of over the counter pain relievers, and the spotting has increased to light bleeding with a thicker discharge. my urine is cloudy but there is no fowl smell. do you know what this might be? and should I be alarmed, in your opinion, or just wait and see?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think I would suggest you to have a course of progesterone support pills for 5 days along with a course of tranaxemic acids, also, antispasmodic tablets like drotaverine will also be required for management of pain, after symptoms subside do a ultrasound.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
