What Causes Stabbing Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Legs And Hands?
I was seen by my doctor because I have had random pain in my legs feet and occasionally my hands. The pain feels like pins and needles and stabbing pains and tingling. There are at times tender spots in my legs. On 3 occasions the side of my face went numb. My doctor requested a brain MRI to check for MS which came back negative. She did tell my however that I have a significant amount of osteoarthritis in my neck. I still have the same issues and feel like I have not gotten any answers. I don t know if I have osteoarthritis in all of my joints or if the osteoarthritis causes these types of pains and am not sure what if anything I can do.
Tingling sensation & numbness is commonly due to Peripheral Neuropathy or diabetic neuropathy. If diabetic, control your blood glucose at all cost. To confirm OA or RA, you should get X-ray, MRI, Blood tests & Joint fluid analysis done. OA can be reversed, get treated. Physical & Occupational therapy are effective. Acetaminophen & NSAIDS effectively reduce pain. Cortisone injections & Lubrication injections are helpful. You are suggested to get clinically assessed by a GP / Neurologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
