What Causes Sticky Feeling In The Hand After Massive Heart Attack?
my mom had a massive heart attack 1.5 yrs ago, also has a anuruism by the arota which is 5.5 cm,since all of this happens ,she complains all the time that her hands feel very sticky, even her dr. shugs his shoulders like she is crazy..Is there a reason for this.thank you
The sticky sensation may actually be abnormal nerve sensation - this is called neuropathy. It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.
The heart attack and aneurysm would not normally cause this unless it affected the blood supply to the nerves supplying the hands.
If it continues or worsens then she can consider seeing a neurologist for assessment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
