What Causes Stiffness And Soreness At The Back Of Legs Above The Knee?
My left leg just above the knee is very stiff and sore. I have no strength. It is on the back of the leg. I apply Ice and the swelling goes down, after icing, I put a heating pad on my leg, and it feels better. My leg is getting weaker, and I am limping noticeably by the end of 5 hour shift. I can t bend the left knee to bring my tennis shoe up on my thigh to tie my shoes. What could this be?
As per my clinical experience, the stiffness and soreness at the back of legs above the knee indicates inflammatory lesion secondary to bacterial infection most likely. Guidelines for better recovery: - Local application of ice 3 times a day for 10 minutes each - Analgesic spray or ointment with Diclofenac, linseed oil or Capsaicin - Anti-inflammatory medicines such as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen - Control of blood sugar - Antibiotics such as Cephalexin or else for resolution of lump
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
