What Causes Stomach Ache Along With Nausea And Chest Pain?

I am a healthy 51, and of a normal weight. I drink beer on ice & smoke cigarettes some times at night. Other than that, no other bad habits. Last Monday I had stomach pains, nausea, chest pains & felt weak. Went to a 24 hr ER. test showed no heart attack, (EKG & Blood wk). Though it to be acid. Prescribed Protonix, Today 7 days later, feeling worse. Weak, Tired, Stomach pain, Dizzy, & chest feels heavy. Felt good from 8am-3pm, then felt awful, & I got scared. Any suggestions or ideas of what this could be?

Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.

Stomach pain, nausea, chest pains and feeling weak are suggesting hyperacidity problems of the stomach (most probably acid reflux or gastritis). You report to drink beer on ice, smoke cigarettes sometimes at night. These are all aggravating factors to your stomach problems.

Protonix is a proton pump inhibitor that will reduce acid production from the stomach. But it requires at least 2 weeks to take effect. This explains why you seem to feel worse.

I recommend to add antacid mixture to have an immediate relief for your stomach hyperacidity.
Take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora. Avoid drinking beer or any other alcoholic drinks; avoid smoking cigarettes.
Follow a healthy diet: no processed foods./ no spicy/ no chilly.
Have your dinner at least 4 hours before going to bed.
Have your meals regularly, do not skip.

If still no improvement, upper endoscopy recommended further.

Wish fast recovery.
