General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
It sounds like you had a stomach virus. This is called gastroenteritis. It usually lasts about 24-48 hours then resolves. One thing that can happen is that it can destroy your normal gut bacteria that help you with digestion. The best was to restore this normal bacteria is to eat yogurt or take some probiotics. This should be done daily for about a month. Avoid foods that cause gas and bloating like beans, cabbage and fried foods.
