Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes please. My grandmother is 84 years old. All of a sudden her upper stomach begin filling with water. She vomits the last week during the day. She does not eat, because she can not. She was done a gastroscopy, the doctor says that it is an inflammation with unknown source. She has thrombosis and heart problems. I ask you please for your opinion. Thank you in advance.
Hi, Inflammation could be due to either infectious or non-infectious. If no infection can be identified after biopsy or culture from the area, then non-infectious cause needs to be thought of. Non-infectious could be cancer induced inflammation, auto-immune secondary to diseases like SLE, ischemic necrotic inflammation or chemical induced inflammation. Any sort of inflammation can be controlled with steroids. If more history, clinical and laboratory findings are available, opinion can be given more accurately. If you have any other queries, happy to help again. Dr. Prakash HM
