What Causes Stomach Pain With Abdominal Soreness?

I've been having unusual stomach pains for the past 5 weeks. Was prescribed Prilosec, focused on my diet/rest, stopped all drinking, quit chewing snuff 2 weeks ago, and after a few weeks the symptoms improved but aren't getting totally better. So the doc ordered an endoscopy but the results were negative for any ulcers. I'm still getting daily pain around my belly button area (had bruising a few times) w/ overall abdominal soreness. i was thinking umbilical hernia, but no bulge is present. I'm in shape, hike/active often, 165 lbs, 6' tall. My PCP has been about worthless, any thoughts? I just don't know what else to try from here.....

consider ct scan of abdomen and pelvis. I do not know your drinking habits, there are signs that severe pancreatitis can cause bruising around umbilicus (belly button). if you are/were a heavy or binge drinking or have gallstones this can cause pancreatitis. blood test would be amylase /lipase and liver fuctions, as well as US of gallbladder and CT scan of abdomen. otherwise consider asking for referral to Gastroenterologist . cheers
