What Causes Sudden Bleeding After The Menopause And Had Been On Estraderm Patches?
I am a 56 year old woman I have been on estraderm patches for over a year now and my periods stopped about 2 years ago. I have started to bleed bright red just like a period. I did have a bleed in October 2012 just before going on HRT patches. I had a scan and blood tests done which all showed up fine. I always have a dull ache on my right side level with my belly button which gives me pain in my lower back, but as I have a compound fracture on my L2 verdabra I just think that s where the pain is coming from. What could be causing this sudden bleeding.?

Post menopausal bleeding should be thoroughly investigated.Hormonal patches contain estrogen which can increase the risk of endometrial tumours in some patients.A thorough pelvic and vaginal examination is essential to rule out endometrial causes of bleeding.High dose estrogen should be avoided to reduce the risk of endometrial tumours.
