What Causes Sudden Lightheadedness And Dizziness In An Elderly Man?

My husband is 56 and suddenly developed light headedness and dizziness four days ago. It goes in spurts sometimes pretty bad and other times no problem, but then reaccurs. For several weeks prior he has been tired and sleeping more than usual. Today he had a period of being chilly, very unlike him. Occasionally he has felt like he has had heart burn with some pain in his upper back. The right side of his neck has hurt periodically during this ordeal. Vertigo has been ruled out, blood pressure, pulse and appetite are normal. Thank you!

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such symptoms of lightheadness dizziness, need to be sent for CT scan of brain because it could be due to TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) and it may be due to long standing untreated hypertension, it may be due to vertigo because of vestibular dysfunction, on tentative basis it can be managed with Tab Betahistine 8 mg three times in day hope this information helps.
