What Causes Sudden Loss Of Consciousness While Walking In A Low BP Patient?
Yes. My daughter blacked out as she was walking across the parking lot, right after lunch. I checked her sugar and it was 99. I didn t have a way to check her blood pressure. She has had to have platelets before and I m wondering if this could be the problem now?
Blacking out can happen in healthy adults especially after a heavy meal and walking right after eating. On the other hand, it is best that she is seen by a doctor and have a general examination and if all is well then there is nothing to worry. She just needs to make sure she eats more frequent smaller meals and drinks plenty of water and should avoid standing up soon after eating.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
