Hi !Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, after a general physical examination I would advise you for an
ultrasound of the abdomen to rule out a gall stone disease or a pancreatic pathology. The diseased
gall bladder might contract following a meal causing the pain and stabbing feeling. The overall management would depend on the reports of ultrasound and blood reports like a CBC, blood sugar, LFT, serum
amylase and serum lipase. Till then, I would prescribe you with a
proton pump inhibitor, an anti spasmodic drug and a
probiotic for a possible symptomatic relief.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
