What Causes Sudden Tingling Sensation In The Thigh While Sleeping?

I have had an ongoing issue since the later part of last year - and getting worst with time and more often -particularly when I am sleeping - I get a sudden tingling and/or burning sensation on the right or front part of my left thigh - and it sometimes goes down to my foot. Also when I sit too long and try to get up - I feel a sudden burning or painful sensation. Note - Once in a while I may get it on my left thigh. I had an MRI done of my spine and no problem found there. Wondering what is next course of action - neurologist, Vascular and/or rheumotologist ??n

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to sciatica pain. I recommend using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also recommend to consult a neurologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
