What Causes Sudden Weakness With Lightheadedness And Sweating?

hi last night i woke up in the middle of the night to grab a glass of water. as soon as i reached the bottom of the stairs I felt a colder change i temperature and suddenly felt weak. i ran to the kitchen and immediately grabbed some water. After two gulps i felt my entire body break out in sweat, I felt lightheaded, my body completely shaky but worst of all HOT...i felt like i had a sudden fever. I quickly went to the freezer and put as much as my body into it as i could..my legs felt week so i sat on my knees and leaned into the freezer trying my hardest not to pass out. After about 10 minutes of that, i felt my body temperature lower and i then finished my glass of water and went to bed. The next morning i still felt shaky but okay for the most part. These sudden episodes haven t happened to me in a while, but i do remember having them when i was younger. Im 22 now, fairly healthy & exersise moderately. Just went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago and he said everything is normal. My mom told me that as a child i would constantly have to be hospitalized because i would have seizures out of nowhere. I don t think I ve had one since i was about 10 but I do remember that sudden weak/panic feeling right before i would blackout. I remember when i was about 14 feeling the exact same way as i did last night but i was able to control it once i took a cold shower. Today, (the day after the attack) i started my monthly cycle. So my question is what the heck happened? Was i just fatigued, dehydrated, is this normal before a menstrual cycle? Could this be related to my past? Should i be worried for future attacks?

There are couple of possibilities-

1. this may have been associated to menses- it is known to happen around menarche too. So that is a possibility- best meet a gynecologist if there is persistence of this problem.

2. Hypoglycemia- your query is posted in diabetes, hence I am assuming you are a diabetic. Low sugars may cause similar problems. Solution is to test sugars at the time and have something sugary.

3. Hypotension: Low blood pressure can cause similar problems. Have lots of fluids and electrolytes

4. Cardiac arrhythmia: abnormal heart beats can cause similar things, check an ekg

5. Seizure?: I think seizure is unlikely. But its a condition that should not be missed. So suggest an MRI brain and EEG as soon as possible

Best of luck
