What Causes Swelling Along With White Spots On Tonsils?
Hi, I have swollen tonsils with white stuff on them, it hurts to swallow, & my ears also hurt. this is the second time in 3 months that I ve had this. I don t know what s causing this, I asked my doctor if it could be a type of std but he never answered me. do you think it might be an std?
As per your complain it seems like infection in throat and white spots seems to be pus pockets and is commonly due to bacterial infection [Streptoccus bacteria].Pain in ears can be due to ear infection secondary to throat infection.. It is a common form of throat infection and not a STD. You can take a course of antibiotics like Levofloxacin or Azithromycin for 5 days.. Take painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily. Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations. Take a soft diet and sip on warm water throughout the day.. Use a cool mist vapourizer in your room..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
