What Causes Swelling And Pain In Upper Abdomen After Liver Resection?
I had liver resection and a tumor taking off my diaphram. I also had a radical just with removal of endometriosis from the above mentioned along with both ureters and bowel. My question is my scar from the liver resection bloats and it still hurts where the tumor was removed on the diaphram. Will this go away soon?
As per my clinical experience, the swelling and pain in upper abdomen after liver resection may be related to different possible issues. The following would be conditions to be evaluated by consultant surgeon or liver fellow: - Post operative adhesions intra abdominally - Collection of residual fluid, bile or pus in the liver bed area after resection - Incisinal hernia if gaping in the internal suturing site - Others Primary need is ultrasound examination of the abdomen and pelvis for evaluation of operative region, underlying healing status and other parameters.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
