Hi I had a injection several months ago and have a pea size tender area that has caused a swollen face and after two courses of anti biotics it's still tender and when pressed gently I get a electric tingle feeling??? HELP think the dentist thinks I'm imagining the pain
Understanding your concern. As per your query your symptoms seems to be due to nerve impingement or pressure on facial nerve which can lead to facial paralysis and tingling sensation symptoms. Need not to worry about it. Visit dentist once and get it examined. Go for physical therapy of facial muscles. Avoid opening mouth extreme wide while jawing. Avoid eating any hard substances and try on soft liquid diet. It will resolve its own. If it is not due to dental related cause visit neurologist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe MRI of brain as it could be related to stroke. Neurotropic medication such as methylcobalamin is effective to improve your symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
