What Causes Swelling In Cheek After Facial Injury?
Hi I got punched in the face 3 days ago now...I am still noticing swelling around the left side of my cheek and left part of my upper lip...a few upper teeth on the left side of my mouth feel very bruisy also, I also have a black eye on the left side and blood in the left part of my left eye...will my symptoms return to normal with continuing to put ice one it or does this sound like I have a facial fracture of some sort?
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The pain and swelling could be because of the bone fracture(maxilla and infra orbital rim) or it can be because of fractured teeth also. The black eye could be because of the orbital bone fracture. Consult a oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get a radiograph done like OPG and PNS view to rule out the fracture. If there are any fractures then get it treated with bone plates and screws. Mean while you can take analgesics like diclofenac 50mg BID for 3 days till you consult the dental surgeon. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
