Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is 4 years old and about two weeks ago i found a swollen lymph node on her neck. She says the lymph node does not hurt, it is about or a little less than an inch long and about a little more than a quarter of an inch wide, the node is very movable. she had a fever the day before easter that seamed to come from no where and then just two days ago she had another one. these fevers where not very high both about 101.0, we were able to break them right away using q pap and they both lasted two days at a low temp. Is there anything i should know or be worried about.
Hello. I just read through your question. These types of occurrences are very common in the pediatric age group. The most likely diagnosis is a harmless viral illness. The cpap is appropriate for fever. Regarding the lymph node, you've stated everything correctly. As long as it is movable and not painful, there is nothing to be concerned about. If this changes, i recommend consulting with your doctor. It could mean the node is infected and antibiotic is needed.
