What Causes Swelling In The Body While Treating Hypothyroidism?

I have swelling in all of my body parts (fluid), for some reason it is worse on the left side of my body. I have hypothyroidism which is under control with medication. I have also had all cardiovascular testing and everything was normal. My question is what else could be causing the water retention? Oh yeah, I have limited my water and salt intake with no change.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Swelling in body, particularly that over legs and face can be a counter part of uncontrolled thyroid levels (a fresh report is mandatory to work up in this case). If you can provide me the update of your recent reports during follow up chat, it would be much worthy to comment possible causes and directions of further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
