What Causes Swelling In The Feet Along With Tingling Sensation?
Feet hurt in the morning when I first get out of bed and takes several steps like walking 20 feet before pain goes away. Also sitting a long time and getting up my feet will hurt. Feet started hurting kind of all at once after a few days of feet swelling about two months ago and thought it would go away by now. I do not have high sugar, kind of overweight due to sitting behind a desk all day, but active at night. Feet are fine as long as I am walking. Feel kind of a tingling feeling and some swelling in feet if too much on them. What could be wrong?
The tingling is due to abnormal function of the nerves. This is called neuropathy and it may be temporary or permanent.
It is likely secondary to the cause of the discomfort. The most likely causes for the discomfort would be arthritis or plantar fasciitis (spur).
Both of these can cause discomfort which is worse on mornings.
An x ray is needed.
Treatment would include rest and a course of anti inflammatory meds eg ibuprofen , naproxen or cataflam If it is a spur then special exercises would also be needed
I hope this helps
