What Causes Swelling In The Throat And Nasal Congestion?

My daughters throat has swollen more since being at the doctors at 5:00. She took amoxicillin at 7:00 and is supposed to what 12 hours. She is concerned about being able to breath since her nose is also stuffy. Should she take the 2nd dose of amoxicillin now and then start the 12 hour clock? What else can she do to get relief?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

Dose of antibiotic should be taken according to schedule but syptomatic treatement can be altered , like she can take Alegra D for congestion of a nasal decongestant spray is expected to help her with this problem antibiotic dose will not work wonders if taken early. Try getting symptomatic treatement.

I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.

Regards.
