What Causes Swelling In The Tongue While Suffering From Acid Reflux?

Hi, my tongue seems to be swollen, and is constantly pressing into my teeth. I find it difficult for my head to feel comfortable! I do suffer for acid reflux, I take Nexium 24hr. A few days ago I did have a bad ache in my left side too! Could this be to do with my spleen?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to acid reflux.

This acidity causes inflammation and swelling in the tongue.

I suggest you to use antacids such as Maloox.

I also recommend using Omeprazole.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
