General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about having swollen neck, gingivitis, ultrasound done, neck pain, normal thyroid function and so on.
Sinice this is being going on for a long time you can have one of the following problems.
Gingivitis can cause intra-oral as well as inflammation of the neck lymph nodes which in turn can causemuscle inflammation in neck as the lymph nodes are at the muscles only.
Viral infection can cause reactionary lymmph node enlargement and pain in neck region.
Faulty posture of neck can cause muscle spasm and sprain and thus pain.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT Surgeon for detailed clinical evaluation, have proper additional investigations.
ORal antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Orl rinse with povidone iodine gargles.
Oral care.
Sips of water frequently.
Continue the treatment will complete cure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
