What Causes Swelling Of Tonsils And Deviation Of Uvula To Right?
My 12 year old daughter has a sore throat, mild swelling of tonsils, 101temp, a history of migraine headaches which occurre 4-5 times a year usually after lack of sleep. I was checking her tonsils this evening and noticed her uvula deviates or hooks to the right. There are no lesions or abscess close to or near the uvula. She has not had CT or MRI of cranium since headaches began.
hello, with the symptoms you told...low grade fevers,no abcess at tonsil and sore throat.. this can be due to viral infection.. swelling of one of the tonsil more than other pushes uvula to other side.. nothing to worry.. get it examined by ENT specialist..we need to check whether there is pus collection to rule out bacterial cause, swab if necessary.. does she have headache associated with nasal discharge?if yes it can be due to sinusitis.. for time being you can take paracetamol and plenty of oral fluids..viral problem generally subsides by itself in few days with supportive treatment.. if problem persists visit a doctor..
hope my answer helps you if you have any more queries i would be happy to answer..
