What Causes Swelling On Left Side Of Face And Lip With History Of Having Pacemaker Inserted?
I am a 67 year old male. I have had a pacemaker for 5 years, in generally good health. This morning I awoke with the left side of my face, and lip swollen, and slight numbness. It is almost normal now, with little numbness. These are the only symptoms i had.
Welcome to health care magic team. Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling of left side of face and lip along with numbness which is mainly because of involvement of facial nerve. Facial nerve got inflammed or impinged at times without any specific cause. As you had pacemaker insertion history poor immunity of body making you susceptible for these symptoms. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get it examined. Mouth stretching excercises are the best treatment option. Do blow in blow out. Symptoms will resolve its own. Visit cardiologist as well and get ECG examination and blood tests done to check any left ventricular pathology.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
