Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son, 4 years old, started to not feel right last night. No elevated temperature at this point. This morning he woke up with a mild fever of 100.6 F and a sore throat. Gave him advil which brought fever down. Around 4pm he started complaining about his lip was hurting. Upon further assessment his lower lip was swollen, as well as his left side of his face. I gave him ibuprofen! Swelling went down a little. But around bed time his lower lip seemed to be swelling up again. I a little worried. He has never had any allergic reactions and he hasn t been eating anything new or unusual today. Should I be concerned? And what could that be? And how should I treat it?

What Causes Swelling On Lower Lip?
Hello!Read your query. Your son seems to develop a allergic reaction to ibuprofen. I suggest you stop Ibuprofen. You can give him cetrizine instead. You must also make sure he did not bite on the lip. You must check with the emergency if it increases in size or persists. Regards.
