What Causes Swelling On Outside Of Foot Upto Ankle?
I have pain and swelling on the right flexor digiti minimi brevis - this is following (post 14 weeks) plantar fasciotomy Painful to walk in the morning and after rest - Swelling on the outside of the foot up into the ankle. Xrays show no stress fracture.

If the stress fracture has been ruled out then it can be due to a mild ligament sprain. You need to use an elastic brace for extra support and take a mild pain killer for relief.
