What Causes Swollen Bilateral Retroauricular Lymph Node?
what would cause bi-lateral retro-auricular lymph node swelling in an otherwise healthy 11-yr old male. unknown duration... just noticed today. no other lymph chain swelling noticeable. no malaise, only aware of pain on palpation of the swollen lymph nodes.
Hi, Bilateral retroauricular swelling with pain on palpation could be due to infection or mumps. In my opinion, you should give brufen 200 mg tablet three times a day for 2 days and start antibiotic amoxyclav 375 mg three times a day for 3 days and give adequate liquid diet. However, since this is a prescription medicine, i advice you to meet the local doctor to confirm the diagnosis. I hope this has helped you. Take care. Regards Dr Deepak Patel, MD Pediatrics
