What Causes Swollen Foot With History Of Undergoing Hysterectomy?
hello, I had a hysterectomy done because I was diagnosed with uterus cancer. OPeration went well back in December 2014 and now my foot and my ankles is swollen. I have done a CT scan and a ultrasound & cannot seem to know why my foot and ankle is swollen. Any ideas? I am trying to gather infromation from other doctors. Please help. Thanks Nadia
Based on the symptoms you have described, it is possible that you may be suffering a heart disease or kidney disease.
There can happen post surgery as the kidney function may have been compromised. It is usually not possible to confirm both of these with an ultrasound.
Usually, one would need a kidney function test or to check blood pressure to confirm the reason for the swelling over the ankles. In case these are negative or normal, more tests would be needed to rule in or rule out other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Vignan Rachabattuni
