What Causes Swollen Hands, Legs And Ankles Post Hysterectomy?
I am 4 months post-op of a hysterectomy and my hands, legs, ankles, and feet have suddenly started swelling up and it s getting to the point where I m uncomfortable and some of my shoes aren t fitting....could it be related to my hysterectomy? Nothing else in life/diet has changed.
It doesn't seem to be related to your operation. You need to rule out underlying cause for it by following investigations: _ Serum total protein _ Serum albumin _ Serum TSH _ Serum urea, creatinine _ Serum SGPT
You can revert to your doctor once reports are done. Diuretic can be prescribed in low dose until then.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
