What Causes Swollen Leg, Nausea And Vomiting While On Insulin For Diabetes?
I m type II diabetic. I started taking insulin a month ago. I have been using CPAP for about 8 years now. Last Wednesday or Thursday I fell asleep in my recliner and awoke to a very red, swolen leg. I have done little but sleep since then. I was nauseated and vomiited twice, nothing but liquid. Today I tried eating and am again nauseated. I have taken ibuprofin for the pain, with little effect.
** 1. Since you are diabetic patient thus looking at your history, symptom wise approach is necessary:
. for nausea/vomiting; get an electrokardiogram done to rule out any heart disease and also check for any small or large blood vessel injury [ vascular injuries] . swollen leg my be due to nerve damage or kidney problem: check with your blood pressure, urine and blood tests and keep blood sugar and blood pressure under control.
2. The most common CPAP side effect is: acid reflux if you are suffering from GERD [gastro esophageal reflux disease causing nausea/vomiting. . raise the head end or use pillows to elevate your head . use a nasal mask instead of full face mask . switch to BiPAP machine instead of CPAP, but speak with your doctor first.
