What Causes Swollen Lump Under The Right Arm?

I had a small lump under my right arm for over a year. first it swelled up then it went down. I was in pain at first with it. But now I am not. I don t have no more hair under my arms since my thyroid was remove in 2009. What could this be. I also had alot of these things when I was younger.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI , thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible the swelling could be an infection of a hair follicles (these would still be present though you do not see hair), enlarged lymph node or abscess which resolved on its own.

The infected hair follicle may be most likely.

You can monitor to see if it recurs. If so , you can go to your doctor for it to be assessed.

I hope this helps
