What Causes Swollen Lumps In Upper Mouth?

The place where my hard palate and soft palate meet gets swollen lumps and hurts too bad to even swallow when I eat. It only lasts about 10 minutes, and is more constant than it has been in the past. (every time I eat as opposed to a couple times a month before) What is causing this? I am 5 7 140 lbs, and have a history of allergies and post nasal drip and ear infections though none are an issue at this time.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

It may be a adenoid hypertrophy or tonsillitis or ulcers or edematous mucosal folds etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use tablet amoxicillin and clavulinic acid 625mg twice a day for five days. Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
