What Causes Swollen Lymph Node Below Right Ear And Pain Below Ribs?
I have a swollen lymph node in my neck below my ear on the right side it s been two weeks. The size goes down and now is bigger. Today I woke up with a pain under my bottom ribs. Seems to be coming from underneath my rib so that would be my kidney i think. I ve been nauseous And tired a lot. But also under a lot of stress.
As per my clinical experience, the swollen lymph node below right ear indicate bacterial infection in drainage area of the anterior or posterior triangle of neck. The pain below ribs is not in concern with kidney problem unless it is lower back over renal region. There can be costochondritis, muscle sprain or strain issue for the pain below rib cage.
However, following measures will help you: - Analgesic as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen after meals if no history of drug sensitivity - Local application of analgesic spray or ointment containing Diclofenac, linseed oil or capsaicin - Antibiotics for possible respiratory tract infection such as Amoxicillin with clavulanic acid or others
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
