What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes And Stiffness In The Neck?
I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck for a few months. It started weeks back with a series of very painful migraines. Along with a bad tooth pain on a tooth which has a cavity and it bad condition. The tooth pain and migraines have all together stopped since then but I now have a constant feeling of disorientation and lack of balance. I feel very mentally aware but I can t seem to get my eyes to catch up to my brain so to speak. And my lymph nodes are still swollen and have allergic like symptoms even though I ve never had problems with allergies. And I am now struggling with constant stiffness and discomfort in my back and neck and feel like it s all related. I am only 25 but I do smoke as well. The constant disorientation is by far the most terrifying part of it all. And don t know what action to take next or the severity of the problem.
Lymph node swelling may be due to several reasons, among which most common seems to be an infection caused through blood borne.
As you already said you are smoking, so first you developed a sore throat and the infection spread to a lymph node in the back of the neck. And all other happened after infection of the lymph node leads to swelling, stiffness and constant pain.
My advice is that you should visit a nearby physician and take proper blood reports and if needed also get a biopsy of that lymph node also. Also take proper antibiotics and analgesics to reduce infection and pain, swelling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
