Hello my three year old boy has swollen lymph nodes since he turned one; recently he broke out in hives that wouldn't go away for about three weeks his glands never go down and he sweats a lot at night his doctors seems not to worry but I have a feeling something is wrong
Hello, Lymph nodes commonly enlarge due to an infection in the nearby area. Persistently palpable nodes in the neck could be due to poor oral hygiene, ear wax,, dandruff etc. It is worrying if the nodes suddenly increase in size, associated with nodes on other areas, fever with weight loss, disproportionate malaise, pallor etc. It would be better to follow your hunch and get a blood test on blood cell counts and peripheral smear. Regards Dr. Sudharsana. S
