What Causes Swollen, Red And Painful Knee With History Of Blood Clots?

Hello.. My knee started hurting last night .. today it is swollen, red and very painful , with pain running up my leg.. 10 year ago I had blood clots in my arm and traveled to my lungs .. I am currently not taken any blood thinners.. but did for years until dr took me off them 5 year ago .. .. I am concerned about this place on my knee wonder if I should go onto the ER.. there is no place where it could be a bug bite .. and the pain feels like it is in the bone,, can you please advise me what I should do

Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, given symptom suggestive of arthritis and it need to be confirmed and for that it is better to get done some test like x-ray and MRI of knee joint, blood test mean while condition can be manage with "Tab Acetaminophen with Diclofenac" once in day, do not bend the knee joint beyond ninety degree, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
